!!!BE WARNED!!! - READ BEFORE DOWNLOADING ANY MP4 FIRMWARE
The MP4 firmwares are to be used ONLY by developers and people wishing to recover their dead mp3/mp4 digital players. You have a 99% of chance to kill your mp3/mp4 player if you flash it without checking the Board ID! i.e., make it inoperable INSTANTLY, probably BEYOND REPAIR.
Follow The Steps Below To Upgrade The Firmware On Your MP4 Player:
Step 1. Finding your Board ID code:
Your MP4 player has a unique and important identification information called the Board ID code. This is the only trustworthy identification of the device.
The code is written in white on the green board. It's located usually behind a plastic sticker, near the minus battery pole.
If you are having problems to find your board ID, it may be behind the LCD cable. You might have to lift it carefully to see the board ID. Seek everywhere! Both sides of all the boards! Some people take a bit of time to find the small white words. We qualify anything printed in white on the green printboard as the board ID.
Step 2. After Finding the Board ID code:
Download the corresponding firmware file name from the list below, that matches your mp4 player's board ID. You can also do a 'search' on our website for the board ID. More firmware downloads are listed under 'MP4 Player File Downloads' category:
Step 3.
Always BACKUP the existing firmware of your player before attempting to update the firmware on your mp4 player. Updating your mp4 player with the wrong or incorrect firmware will result in a DEAD PLAYER and it not booting up at all! Always be sure that you use the correct firmware for your mp4 player only.
Updating your firmware will NOT provide you with any extra features. It's really intended as a resource and 'backup' should the firmware on your mp4 player becomes corrupt.
Additional/More Firmware updates can be downloaded from the link below if you can't find your firmware from the list above:

Step 4.
a). Download and install the AMV MP4 Video Conversion Software Version 4.04 or the AMV MP4 Video Converter Version 3.74 or the AMV MP4 Video Converter Version 3.64
b). Connect your mp4 player to your computer using the USB cable. Make sure that Windows detects your mp4 player and allocates a drive letter to is through Windows Explorer. This is very important, if Windows can't detect your player when plugged in, you won't be able to do the firmware update.
c). Now click on [Start] --> [Programs] --> [MP3 Player Utilities 3.68] (or whatever version you have installed) --> "MP3 Player Upgrade Tool".

d). Click on the "Select new firmware file" button.

e). Choose your new firmware file (.bin or .fw) and click on the [Open] button.

f). Now click on the "Begin upgrading" button.

g). You will now see a progress bar and a message saying "Writing the firmware data to the device".

h). During updating, your computer will look like it's 'hung' for a few seconds, don't worry, just let it do it's thing and wait for the "Upgrade is success" message like the one below.

NOTE: DO NOT disconnect or pull the USB cable out of your MP3/MP4 player during a firmware upgrade! This will corrupt the firmware and you will have to use a recovery process to fix it (very long and lengthy and involves taking the player apart).
Allow the firmware upgrade process to finish.
Once it finishes, it will automatically restart your MP3/MP4 player and just leave it USB connected to the computer until it's fully rebooted and Windows detects your MP3/MP4 player again.
